Jason Brown: a creative lifestyle.

Interview: Michael Nevin

> What have you been up to lately?
I've been on the road basically all season, doing lots of different stuff. Having a good time with traveling, seeing what Earth has to offer. And hooked up with lots of cool people along the way too.
> Have you been filming for any upcoming videos?
Yeah. I'm working on two films this year. Mack Dawg's, and a
special project with Dave Seaone. I'm directing my own part in Daves film, we're doing something a little different.
> What's an average day for you, are there any average days?
Waking up in another hotel, getting my gear on, gettin my shred on, eating out for dinner, then either flying home or doing it all over again the next day. It's great.

If it was not for you. Oil Painting by jb.

> I hear that you have a signature board coming out, whats with the graphics?
Well I wanted to do my own graphics, as in painting every single board, and I have this weird line art shape thing that I do, that is always different, but looks the same, so I decided to hand paint all the boards for next year with that design.

> How long did that take you?
Well I'm not finished yet, but the first round of about 1300 took a week working double shifts every day.  It was great.
> Do you consider yourself to be an artist?
Yes. But not in the traditional sense. I'm and artist in my own way, with everything I do.

> Are you inspired by any artists in the "traditional sense"?
Of course, that's why I paint. I just can't do it like them. Van Gogh, Pacisso, Frost, Tempelton, lots of great stuff I could never touch.

The Perfect Moment. Mixed Media by jb.

> What do you like about Templeton's work?
So much. I like arists that you can spot right away, their work I mean.
> It seems like a lot of art is coming out of the skateboard/snowboard community
, why do you think that is?
Because those sports attract creative people.
> What are your plans for the future?
Even I'll have to wait and see.
> Any closing words or advice to the people who read this?
Appreciate life, because every second of it counts, and share it with someone you love.

Jim Ponte: Monsters & Robots.

Text & Camera: Seth Butler

> Jim Ponte is an accomplished Illustrator, a die hard Sick of it All fan and one of the most down to earth people you will ever meet. He works as an artist through printmaking processes in many of his illustrations to gain a livelihood in his art making and uses the process to his advantage. He was nice enough to do all the custom lettering you see in this entry.
> Jim is one of those individuals who is incessent. Jim has been in and out of the cultures of snowboarding and skateboarding for a while now. Jim is a determined rider when he actually gets out of his studio. He will fall, get back up, fall again, he wont stop until he gets it right. No matter how much it hurts, he wont stop 'til he sticks it clean.
> Jim is an avid supporter of the East Coast Hardcore Scene and involved in Storm Front Magazine. You just might find him downing highballs at your favorite local club. Beware this guy can dance.
