Well it's finally happened and all the girls are screaming about it. Candy addict and Stratton / Okemo local Lane Kannack finally got his license. Rumor has it that Ross Powers will be featured on bottles of Naya water, did Ross recently buy a limo? Rossignol pro Ron Chiodi has been skating vert in Europe, will Ron be in an upcoming TV commercial? Abe Teter's been surfing on the West Coast. Hobie Chittenden has been entering logging contests and got third in his first one. Hobie should have a signature board with Hayes Brothers out now { so go buy it }, rumor says that it's the one with the chainsaw on the bottom. Bromley/Stratton local Tristan Winpenny is still without a board sponsor even after going bigger then most of the sponsored ams all winter. Killington has closed their night pipe for good so expect the Stratton mtn. night pipe to be a little more congested for the 99\00 season. In Industry news, the fine people at Mervin Mfg. have their robots working overtime on a new line of skateboards with a super-light carbon laminate that may change the amount of skateboards you break in a year. Gnu Snowboards is in fierce competition with Apple Computer over the G3 tradename and their new line of "super computer bindings". Now illegal in most third world countries, the bindings are so light that riders have been known to interfere with military radar surveillance upon entry to the atmosphere. Could a G4 be on the way? On a skateboarding note, Boston has recently opened a new concrete park four blocks off the Maverick stop. Toy Machine pro Brian Anderson stopped by to tear it up solo. The park is fun although nothing is over four feet. Mark Gonzales got married to his longtime girlfriend. The Alleged Art Gallery located at 809 Washington Street in Manhattan will be hosting an Ed Templeton show titled " The Golden Age of Neglect ". According to the Alleged press release Ed " documents the people from his neighborhood. Suburban kids smoking and making out who are suppose to be good but are really bad. He also takes pictures of he and his wife being bad". The exhibit, in the form of a giant sketchbook is open until January 9th so go and check it out.
